jpeterson-design.com: two sisters, three metros, one portfolio

Jennifer Peterson designs in Chicago and Southwest Michigan; her sister Jill Kearns in Atlanta. One studio, three metros. The site's first line is theirs, not ours — "striving to enrich your life by creating extraordinary spaces" — and the design follows it: quiet serif type, a soft teal accent, and the work doing the talking.

The portfolio is the site

Twenty-one projects, each its own page with the rooms, the story and the details. The portfolio's own introduction says it best: "every room here began as somebody's list of frustrations." A visitor can browse by room or by the metro they live in, because the studio works in three of them.

From vision to home

The Process page walks a prospective client through how a project actually goes — discovery that begins with understanding you, design work that continues throughout, execution, and the finishing layer. It answers the questions people are too polite to ask on a first call.

Moving off a page builder

This site replaced one on a page-builder platform — the kind you can edit but nobody can operate. The projects were loaded into the admin months before the public site switched over, so launch day was a switch of the domain, not a scramble. Since then it has had the same daily attention as every other site here: search measured and improved, inquiries caught, the two sisters a message away from us.
