Western Springs Primary Bathroom Remodel

This primary bathroom remodel in Western Springs, IL, completed in 2019, is one of our favorite examples of what a thoughtful mix of classic materials and warm metal finishes can do for a space. Our team at GS Construction rebuilt the room around two focal points — a generous double vanity and a glass-enclosed walk-in shower — tying everything together with marble underfoot and gold accents throughout. The vanity wall sets the tone. We installed a spacious double vanity with white shaker-style cabinets topped in pristine white quartz, giving the homeowners plenty of storage and counter space to start and end the day. Two gold faucets sit beneath a pair of framed mirrors, and two wall-mounted sconces cast a warm glow across the quartz — a combination that reads elegant without feeling fussy. The walk-in shower is the highlight of the project. We enclosed it in glass to keep the sightlines open, then finished the walls in blue subway tile laid in a vertical stack bond pattern — a fresh twist on a classic material that gives the room a modern feel. Two gold shower heads carry the metal finish through from the vanity area, so the whole bathroom reads as one cohesive design. Underfoot, white marble laid in a herringbone pattern anchors the space with texture and movement. Even the small details got attention: crisp white electrical outlets and a clean 2-gang light switch keep the walls looking tidy rather than cluttered.
