Ranch Home Remodel

When we took on this ranch home remodel in Lake Zurich, IL, the goal was a whole-home refresh that felt cohesive from room to room. Completed in 2019, the project focused on the two hardest-working spaces in the house — the kitchen and the bathroom — with wood-look luxury vinyl plank flooring flowing throughout to tie the remodeled rooms together. The kitchen is where the design comes to life. We paired white shaker upper cabinets with dark lower cabinets for a two-tone look, then finished the space with granite countertops and a classic subway tile backsplash. A farmhouse sink anchors the main run of cabinetry, and stainless steel appliances — refrigerator, microwave, and range — are integrated seamlessly for a clean, modern feel. A breakfast bar with two stools creates a casual spot to sit and gather, while a stylish ceiling fan overhead keeps the room comfortable. Storage received special attention throughout: custom glass-front cabinets with interior lighting put dishware on display, and pull-out drawers below keep everyday plates organized and within easy reach — a small detail that makes a big difference in how the kitchen lives day to day. In the bathroom, we carried the same materials through for continuity: a granite-topped vanity with white shaker cabinets, a subway tile shower, and a modern white toilet. The result is a home where every room speaks the same design language, from the countertops down to the floors. It's the kind of craftsmanship and thoughtful detail we aim to bring to every project, and this Lake Zurich remodel remains one we're proud to show off.
