Palatine Kitchen Remodel

We completed this kitchen remodel in Palatine, IL in 2024, bringing together classic finishes and a clean, modern layout. We built the space around custom white shaker cabinets finished with elegant molding, then topped the runs with gray marble that carries through the entire kitchen. Dark hardwood floors ground the room and give the bright cabinetry a warm contrast, while six recessed ceiling lights keep every corner of the workspace evenly lit. At the center of the room sits a large island with seating for four — a dark base under the same gray marble, lit by three black and gold pendant lights that anchor the space. Along the cooking wall, a black and white arabesque tile backsplash rises above the 36-inch stainless steel range and its matching hood, with a built-in black oven completing the cooking zone. Every element was chosen to balance the crisp white cabinetry against darker accents — the island, the pendants, the floors — so the kitchen reads layered rather than flat. Just off the main kitchen, we added a wet bar for entertaining. A wood countertop warms up that corner, a built-in 24-inch wine fridge keeps bottles at the ready, and a wine rack display sits alongside two glass-front upper cabinets for stemware. It is a small footprint that adds real function for hosting.
